New course at University College of Osteopathy

LONDON 21 – 23 MARCH 2025 with Mauro Banfi Osteopath Physiotherapist,

This course is suitable for physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and speech and language therapists.

With a mix of practical workshops and underpinning research and theory this course will identify the main challenges of a patient presenting with voice dysfunction with special focus but not exclusively on the artistic vocal field.

The course will cover the assessment of the phonatory system, and management of overuse.

Learning objectives

·       The seminar is dedicated to learning the mechanisms of voice production in normal situation and in the artistic performance, as well as the manual treatment aimed at recovering and maintaining proper function.

·       The main dysfunctions and pathologies affecting the vocal cords and vocal tract will be explored in depth.

·       We will examine the relationship between the diaphragmatic-pulmonary system, the vocal folds and the vocal tract in the voice production

·       A significant portion of the seminar will be focused on practical assessment of the functioning of the laryngeal tract.

·       Participants will learn basic techniques of laryngeal manipulation.

The goal is to train professionals who can collaborate, respecting their roles, within teams alongside other voice specialists (ENT specialists, speech therapists).
