  • Fundamentals of acoustic analysis: waveform, power spectrum, spectrogram
  • Standard conditions for voice recording
  • Introduction to PRAAT: software features (voice signal acquisition, waveform and spectrogram visualization, power spectrum, voiced segments, fundamental frequency [F0], intensity contour, formants)
  • Spectrogram interpretation and Titze’s classification
  • Calculation and visualization of LTAS and Singing Power Ratio
  • Cepstral measures in voice analysis
  • Acoustic Voice Quality Index (AVQI): calculation and interpretation
  • Closing session: discussion and Q&A

Dr Marco Fantini Bio:

Physician and surgeon specialized in Otolaryngology, with expertise in Vocology and Phonosurgery.
After earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin, he completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the same university. He further pursued advanced training in voice medicine and surgery at the University of Bologna, the Cesena Voice Center, the Centro de Foniatría y Logopedia in Santander, and the Medical Voice Center in Hamburg.
He is a member of the Union of the European Phoniatricians (UEP) and the Collegium Medicorum Theatri (CoMeT).
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in the fields of laryngology and vocology. His research has been presented at international congresses and courses such as La Voce Artistica, Società Italiana di Foniatria e Logopedia, Union of the European Phoniatricians, The Voice Foundation, and the Pan-European Voice Conference.
